Founded in 1976, North Shore Community Resources’ (NSCR) mission is to enhance well-being, social connections, empowerment and community participation by designing and delivering programs and services to create a thriving North Shore. To achieve this mission, we provide community programs and services in four areas: Child and Parent programs, Seniors programs, Community Engagement, and Community Legal Services and Housing Advocacy.
Reporting to the Better at Home Program Lead, NSCR seeks a Better at Home Program Assistant on a fixed-term full-time basis (35 hours per week) until March 31, 2026.
The Better at Home Program Assistant works alongside the Better at Home team within the North Shore Program. The Better at Home Program Assistant also works within the Seniors and Community Engagement Department team, which includes the Volunteer Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with seniors and volunteers to deliver programs and services
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to innovate and find creative solutions to challenges
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant technology literacy including database programs
  • Strong knowledge of North Shore social services agencies and their programs
  • Second language is an asset
  • Experience using QuickBooks Desktop is an asset
    Successful candidate subject to a criminal record check.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with all aspects of Better at Home program including providing information, intake, generating invoices and processing payment, referral to other programs
  • Provide support for any or all of the non-medical services offered through Better at Home
  • Assist with updating program materials to ensure information is accurate and reflecting the program’s service offerings and protocols
  • Reviewing and updating client files
  • Maintain the client database with appropriate record management
  • Assist with the training of volunteers as needed with the assistance of the Volunteer Coordinator and Better at Home Program Lead
  • Provide support and backup to Better at Home staff and program volunteers
  • As needed, collaborate with community agencies, health professionals, families/caregivers, other Better at Home sites, and others to improve service delivery and program quality
  • Act as an NSCR Ambassador for the organization in addition to their own program
