Job Summary Responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care, participate in administrative tasks, and assist in various healthcare projects. Provide you with valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment and contribute to your professional development. Performs a wide range of administrative tasks to support a medical office, including creating new patient charts, preparing paperwork, patient confirmation calls, obtaining referrals and insurance prior authorizations as needed; provide patient reception, front desk coverage, assist with patient scheduling, photocopying, faxing, filing and answering telephones. Work with the physician, staff members and management to ensure a quality-based, customer-oriented flow of work. Utilize discretion and judgment to organize priorities, complete tasks and handle confidential patient information. This role is the first “face of Voice Center” when covering front desk, and important to be patient friendly and engaging. *The work location for this role is 11 Bowdoin St, Boston, MA 02114.* Qualifications Education Currently enrolled at Northeastern University as an undergraduate Work Experience 0-1 years work experience Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a relevant degree or diploma in a healthcare-related field. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong interest in the healthcare industry and a desire to gain practical experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff. Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism. Proficient in using basic computer software. Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute as part of a healthcare team. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and privacy laws is an asset. Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities) Help with data entry and maintaining electronic health records (EHR) systems. Create all new patient charts for clinic patients and prepare appropriate paperwork. Perform patient confirmation calls for upcoming appointments. Assist the front desk assistant when needed to check in patients, help with scheduling, and assist with insurance calls for prior authorizations when needed. Retrieve, screen and triage mail for the department every day Provide assistance to patients and their families, answering questions and addressing concerns within your scope of knowledge. Assist in scheduling patient appointments, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and optimal patient flow.
