Job Summary
Join our MI team in a temporary role pivotal to our insurance and warranty company. This position is the backbone of our business, facilitating regular reporting to both our internal management team and external stakeholders. Collaborating closely with colleagues across the MI team and throughout the organisation, you’ll be instrumental in delivering a broad spectrum of data management and Control.
We’re seeking an individual with a logical mindset and a meticulous attention to detail. The successful applicant will engage in a diverse array of data engineering and analytical tasks, gaining invaluable experience in the end-to-end ingestion to reporting process. Responsibilities and duties
· Demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of data analysis and reporting.
· Engineer and Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports with accuracy and timeliness.
· Develop and optimise end-to-end reporting processes, from data extraction to visualisation.
· Proactively understand and interpret end-user specifications to tailor reports effectively.
· Enhance and maintain the existing reporting suite, ensuring its relevance and efficiency.
· Collaborate with various stakeholders across the business to address and support evolving business needs.
· Utilise automation tools such as Power Query to streamline and enhance current reporting tools.
· Provide support in the administration of systems, including price amendment and template maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential Requirements:
· Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Azure, Power Automate, Python and Power Query
· Ability to understand, manipulate, accurately analyse, and communicate insights from data
· Self-motivated with keen attention to detail and ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines.
· Experience of innovative software and modelling approaches applied to large datasets
· Proficiency in Advanced Excel
· Ability to write and understand Python code
· Strong documentation skills (e.g., writing detailed instructions)
Experience:
· Familiarity with SQL, Data Factory and Python (desirable but not essential)
· Minimum 1–2 years of experience in generating large reports with complex
· Minimum 1–2 years of experience with Power BI and Power Query
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a data analyst role
· Minimum 1–2 years of experience in the insurance or financial industry
· Previous experience in an Engineering or management information position
· Excellent understanding of Excel and experience working with Power BI and Data Factory
· Experience with Agile project/initiative approaches (desirable but not essential)
· Strong communication and analytical skills
· Development and enhancement of dashboards for management insights
· Strong problem-solving abilities
· Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
Skills:
· Integrate data from different sources to create a seamless data flow and ensure accuracy
· Confidence in providing operational management information
· Quick learner with the ability to apply knowledge to new challenges
