POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled PowerBI Developer to join our dynamic team at Demkota, a leading branded beef packer. The PowerBI Developer will be part of a collaborative team, for creating, optimizing, and maintaining PowerBI-based reporting systems to drive data-informed decisions across production, sales, supply chain, and business operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Microsoft PowerBI, data modeling, and ETL processes, with an ability to thrive in the dynamic food processing industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization using Microsoft PowerBI.
• Proven experience building complex data models and ETL processes in a business environment, preferably in food processing, meat packaging, or manufacturing.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in PowerBI Desktop and Service, including DAX, Power Query, and data visualization best practices
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Familiarity with SSIS or similar data integration processes.
• Understanding of Excel and VBA macros.
• Basic understanding of Python or R for advanced analytics is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with meat packaging or food is a plus but not required.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Aberdeen, SD 5740

• BI Solution Development: Design, develop, and deploy interactive PowerBI reports, dashboards, and data models to support key business functions, including production tracking, inventory management, and sales performance.
• Data Modeling: Build and maintain complex data models using PowerBI, ensuring efficient data structures for scalability and performance.
• ETL Processes: Develop and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines to integrate data from diverse sources, such as ERP systems, production databases, and third-party supply chain tools, into PowerBI.
• DAX and Query Optimization: Write and optimize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) queries and Power Query scripts to enhance report functionality and performance.
• Collaboration: Partner with business analysts, data analysts, and department leads to gather requirements and deliver tailored BI solutions that meet operational and strategic needs.
• Data Visualization: Ability to create clear, easy to understand and actionable dashboards and reports.
• Data Integration: Ensure seamless integration of PowerBI with existing systems, including SQL databases, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), and other enterprise tools.
• Misc Analysis: Ad hoc analysis needed to help critical and timely business decisions
