BI ENGINEER:

On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a BI Engineer for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

BI ENGINEER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The BI Engineer will lead the development and maintenance of BI platforms at SLC Management, utilizing tools like PowerBI and Tableau. The role involves contributing to AWS and Snowflake-based data pipelines to build dashboards and reports for internal business teams, optimizing data products, and ensuring alignment with industry standards in data and cloud technologies.

BI ENGINEER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Strong proficiency in PowerBI, including advanced DAX, Power Query, and data modeling
• Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and CRUD operations
• Solid understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
• Experience with ETL processes, data ingestion, and integration
• Experience with data warehousing, best practices, and tools such as Snowflake
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain concepts to business stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

BI ENGINEER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Knowledge of additional BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and their BI-related services
• Familiarity with working in an Agile environment (Kanban/Scrum)
• Experience working in Asset Management / Finance / BFSI domain
• Preferred certifications: Power BI/Power Platform/Snowflake

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable BI architecture, dashboards, data models, and visualizations
• Enable self-serve BI using PowerBI and support business teams by developing solutions using PowerBI and Tableau
• Manage the PowerBI Service cloud environment, including workspace configurations, permissions, and security settings
• Collaborate with developers, enterprise technical teams, and business teams to enforce governance, coding standards, and security directives
• Develop and maintain training material and documentation for BI processes, data models, and reporting solutions
