Description
We’re looking for a curious and proactive Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team at Y Soft! In this role, you’ll become part of a team of BI engineers, where you’ll take ownership of designing, building, and optimizing reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the company using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. We are looking for a new team mate who is either technical or more business-facing or both – we can use either skillset, as long as you're ready to turn business needs into smart, scalable dashboards and enjoy working in a dynamic environment with plenty of room for initiative, we’d love to hear from you! What you'll do: You will be in charge of part of or the entire end-to-end process of report-creation, depending on your inclinations, be they technical or business-facing: Gathering requirements directly from business users, taking care to understand their needs and the impact their requests will have on the business Identifying and working with the necessary data sources and loading them to the data warehouse or otherwise preparing them for data modelling Designing, creating and then maintaining data models to support reporting Creating meaningful reports Support business users with their own self-service report creation What your role will be like: The reports you create in Power BI will have a real and visible impact. No endless requirement meetings for reports that no one ends up using - your work will matter from day one. We work closely with business users at all levels including C-level. We are frequently in contact with the CEO, discussing ideas and strategy with him – you could be doing this too! We encourage the implementation of new ideas and technologies. For example, we’ve adopted Microsoft Fabric as our ETL and data warehouse platform - even while it was still in beta. We value understanding the business context behind the data. We don’t just tick off requirements; we think critically about what makes sense. We actively support self-service BI across the company. You’ll be working as a partner to report users, helping them become confident data authors themselves. What we would like from you: 1–2 years of prior experience working with data (e.g. in reporting, analytics, BI, data modeling, or similar roles) Any of the following: Advanced knowledge of SQL querying Some experience with DAX (Power BI) Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus Fluency in English is required; Czech is a strong advantage for smoother day-to-day collaboration A fresh perspective - whether through experience from other environments or curiosity to explore new approaches in data modeling, analysis, Python, AI, or other technologies Willingness to meet in our office in Brno approximately 2 days a week, the rest is flexible and up to you We offer: 30 days of vacation + 3 sick days 12 days for education and self-development (Grow Days) + language education support Hybrid working environment with a flexible schedule (combination of home and office work) Cross-team collaboration with a great opportunity to learn new things and grow Reward system for public speaking Home office and Meal allowances Daily refreshments in the office + community breakfasts, free 3D print Dog-friendly and bike-friendly offices
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of report creation, including gathering requirements, preparing data, and creating reports in Power BI. Your work will have a significant impact on data-driven decision-making across the company.
