Description
Job purpose The HR Specialist will support the Human Resources Team's administrative functions, temporary labor coordination, and employee engagement initiatives. Duties and responsibilities * Liaise with staffing agencies to coordinate temporary labor needs. * Track and report on temp labor assignments, hours, and performance. * Assist in scheduling interviews and onboarding for temporary staff. * Ensure timely communication between departments and staffing partners. * Process the temporary staffing payroll * Assist with tracking and processing FMLA, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Workers’ Compensation claims. * Communicate with employees regarding leave eligibility, documentation requirements, and claim status. * Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality. * Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including document collection and system updates. * Support compliance efforts by organizing and maintaining personnel files and audit documentation. * Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. * Support internal communications related to HR initiatives and events. * Other duties as assigned by management.  Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. * Internship or prior administrative experience in HR is a plus. * Bilingual (Spanish/English) required. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems is a plus. * Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Supervisory Responsibilities This role has no supervisory responsibilities Physical Demands * Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours * The ability to use arms/hands/fingers to feel and reach * Be able to bend/stoop/kneel as needed * Must be able to hear and talk to communicate with internal/external customers * Must be able to push/pull/ lift at least 45 lbs. individually and 50 lbs. with the help of a team member. * Ability to work in an office setting, and spend primary working hours at a desk using a computer and other office equipment such as printers, copiers, postage machines, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
