JOB DESCRIPTION:
Startech Networks, Inc. is seeking an experienced BIC Field Engineer candidate with U.S. work Authorization to join our growing team in NC. BICS personnel must possess excellent customer contact skills and a thorough knowledge of relevant codes, industry standards, AT&T company policies, tariffs, and PSC/FCC regulations. Customers, property owners, and their agents expect to engage in direct negotiations with BST BICS personnel. BICS personnel are to confirm all negotiations in writing.
The BIC must determine the most efficient and economical design for the placement of AT&T’s plant on private property, taking into account short-term and long-term needs. This design must minimize the cost of owner-provided support structures while specifying adequate pathways and spaces for the anticipated life of the building(s). The BIC must consider current network deployment guidelines and, in particular, the overall network design directed by the local Outside Plant Engineering (OSPE) organization and Circuit Capacity Management (CCM).
In its role as the focal point of contact with customers and property owners for the placement of AT&T’s facilities on private property, BICS must often coordinate and communicate the needs of other departments. This may involve issues impacting OSPE, I&M, Sales, Legal and Regulatory & and External Affairs. In particular, when securing customer-provided support structures for specific product sales, BICS is called upon at project team meetings to provide status on customer negotiations.
