This role is key to managing system configurations and change control within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring compliance and consistency across all project phases. Responsibilities
  • Define, implement, and maintain the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) in line with ISO 10007, CENELEC EN 50126/50128/50129, and project-specific requirements.
  • Oversee configuration identification, baseline creation, version control, and configuration audits for all system components.
  • Manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensure alignment with as-built and as-deployed configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, safety, testing, procurement, and operational teams to control and track changes across all system elements.
  • Ensure rigorous change control by managing Change Requests (CRs), Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and approval workflows.
  • Maintain traceability from system requirements through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Produce regular configuration status accounting reports for internal teams and for submission to the client.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and contribute to Safety Case development and updates.
  • Support internal and external audits related to configuration and change management.
  • Lead the configuration management effort for integration of TPS with onboard and trackside equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in configuration management within large-scale infrastructure, rail, transportation, or safety-critical industries.
  • Proven experience in managing configuration and change control on rail signaling or transportation projects, ideally with exposure to ERTMS, ATP, or similar safety-critical systems.
  • Deep understanding of configuration standards, and rail safety standards including CENELEC (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools such as IBM Rational, Polarion, PTC Windchill, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working on public sector bids or delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • MS Office i.e. at least intermediate Excel and Word skills
