Job Description Why This Role Matters The Bid Manager plays a central role in securing the company’s future project pipeline across the Middle East and Africa. By leading complex, high‑value tenders from start to finish, this role directly influences our ability to win strategic marine and infrastructure projects, expand into key markets, and maintain our competitive edge. A successful Bid Manager ensures that every submission is commercially sound, technically robust, and aligned with the company’s long‑term growth objectives. What You'll Drive Managing each tender as a standalone project, including full administrative and financial oversight. Coordinating internal and external multidisciplinary teams (engineering, planning, procurement, legal, finance, HSE) to develop compliant and competitive bids. Leading cost estimation, pricing strategy, and financial modeling in line with target margins and defined risk exposure. Performing contractual and commercial risk analyses, including reviewing international contract frameworks (e.g., FIDIC). Organizing and leading site visits, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with clients and partners. Managing clarifications and leading commercial and technical negotiations. Ensuring high-quality submissions, strict adherence to deadlines, and full alignment with corporate governance standards and internal quality procedures. Supporting the structured handover to project delivery teams upon contract award. Leveraging strong experience in African markets and effectively managing French-speaking projects and stakeholders. The role requires proven experience in infrastructure and marine projects, strong knowledge of international construction practices, solid commercial expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in complex, multicultural environments. Qualifications You're a Great Fit if You Have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field. Additional training in commercial management, contract law, or project management is an advantage. 8 - 12 years of experience in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years in bid management or tendering roles. Proven track record in delivering bids for infrastructure and marine projects, including ports, quay walls, dredging, coastal works, bridges, and heavy civil works. Demonstrated experience leading tenders across Africa and/or the Middle East. Strong familiarity with international contract frameworks (e.g., FIDIC) and EPC, Design‑Build, and ECI contracting models. Experience working within - or leading - consortia, joint ventures, and multinational bid teams. Technical & Commercial Competencies Strong capability in cost estimation, pricing development, and financial modeling. Solid understanding of construction methodologies for marine and infrastructure works. Advanced skills in contractual and commercial risk analysis. Ability to manage a tender as a full project, including planning, scheduling, documentation, and financial oversight. Language & Soft Skills Fluency in English and French is a essential. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in multicultural, fast‑paced, and high‑pressure environments. Highly organized, with strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision‑making capabilities.
