Job Description Job Family – Proposal Management The Bid Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of competitive, compliant, and compelling proposals across AECOM’s business lines. This position requires strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary inputs within tight deadlines. The Bid Specialist will support strategic pursuits by leading the bid process end-to-end, from opportunity assessment through to final submission, with a focus on pricing, compliance, coordination, and quality. Key Responsibilities Commercial & Financial Lead the development of commercial pricing for bids, ensuring alignment with internal cost models, strategic pricing approaches, and client expectations. Coordinate with technical teams to prepare clear, consistent, and competitive pricing submissions. Work closely with the Legal team to review contractual requirements and ensure that financial and legal risks are properly addressed within proposals. Bid Management & Strategy Manage the full bid lifecycle, from Expression of Interest (EOI) through to final proposal submission. Analyze RFPs/RFQs to ensure full compliance with submission requirements, evaluation criteria, and contract terms. Develop win strategies and value propositions tailored to each opportunity. Collaborate with client account leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to craft client-focused, differentiated responses. Coordination & Collaboration Serve as the central coordinator across technical, commercial, legal, and management teams to gather and consolidate inputs. Lead internal review processes and obtain necessary approvals in line with governance frameworks and delegation protocols. Maintain bid timelines and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on deliverables and responsibilities. Technical Writing & Visual Production Support or lead the drafting of technical content by collaborating with SMEs and refining their inputs into clear, compelling narratives. Structure and format high-quality proposals using Adobe InDesign, ensuring consistency with AECOM’s visual and branding standards. Maintain an up-to-date library of content, CVs, project experience sheets, and visuals to support ongoing and future bids. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Track and log bid results, gather client and internal feedback, and analyze outcomes to identify areas for improvement. Contribute to the continuous improvement of bid processes, tools, templates, and content libraries to enhance proposal quality and efficiency. Key Attributes Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Excellent written communication and editing skills, with attention to detail in both narrative and numerical content. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build, review, and interpret pricing models and financial tables. Comfortable working with numbers and commercial information, with a solid understanding of costing principles and financial logic. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite. Collaborative and proactive mindset, with the confidence to engage with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
