Description

We are looking for a skilled Bid Writer and Quality Administrator to join our team in the civil engineering, resurfacing, and plant hire sector. This dual-role will involve writing compelling and high-quality bids and proposals for tenders while ensuring that all submissions meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will support quality management processes to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
The key responsibilities for this role are;

Bid Writing:

  • Write and prepare high-quality, tailored bid submissions in response to client requests, tenders, and proposals.
  • Ensure all bids and proposals are compliant with client requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for bid submissions.
  • Develop clear, persuasive, and accurate content that highlights the company’s capabilities, experience, and strengths.
  • Review and edit submissions to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality.
  • Manage the entire bid process, including bid preparation, submission, and follow-up.

Quality Administration:

  • Maintain and support the company’s quality management system ensuring all quality-related processes and documentation are up to date.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure that quality assurance procedures are followed and records are maintained accurately.
  • Monitor and track project performance to ensure compliance with contractual and quality standards.
  • Support the team in identifying areas for quality improvements and assist with implementing changes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all bid and quality-related documentation.

Additional Administrative Support:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of prequalification documents and other related administrative tasks.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the filing, organisation, and archiving of bid documents and quality records.

The key requirements for this role would be;

  • Proven experience in bid writing or proposal preparation, ideally within the construction, civil engineering, or plant hire industries.
  • Strong understanding of the bid process, including creating winning tender submissions.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and relevant industry standards.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and persuasive documents.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and bid management software.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry’s quality and safety standards (e.g., ISO 9001) is preferred.

The ideal candidate would have;

  • A degree or qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with tender portals and electronic bid submission systems.
  • Knowledge of the plant hire industry and related regulations is a plus.
  • Experience in project management or quality assurance within the construction sector.
