Overview
The Big O Accounting Specialist processes and validates data daily between systems and reviews vendor statements for accuracy to ensure timely payment. In addition, this position performs audit and clerical duties related to processing and reconciling daily Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger data for Big O Tires locations and communicates with field personnel to resolve errors and provide support.

Responsibilities
- Import daily General Ledger and Accounts Receivable files from point-of-sale system into accounting software, validating complete and accurate posting, and resolving errors.
- Compare daily scanned documents with information entered in Great Plains. Communicate with field personnel to resolve errors.
- Respond to incoming calls and email requests in a timely manner, researching as needed to provide accurate information, resolve issues or provide requested documents, including invoice copies, payment discrepancies/verifications, and tax exemption requests.
- Receive and apply customer payments accurately and timely.
- Maintain electronic files of reports and supplier invoices.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to Big O Accounting Manager.
- Act as back up for Big O Accounting Clerk in completing daily audit process.
- Support the team by assisting others as required to meet team deadlines.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of strong accounting experience
- Knowledge of automated accounting systems and processes
- Computer knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Capability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for extended periods.

- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills
- Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards, Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics), or PDI.
