SUMMARY

We are seeking a Bilingual Back of House Staff member who is fluent in French & English to join our dynamic team at the Corrections Canada Training Academy. We serve up to 90 recruits’ 7 days a week in a cafeteria setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
  • Experience in kitchen environment a plus.
  • Fluent in French & English
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
    Successful candidate must have or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance

Responsibilities
  • Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruit.
  • Assisting chefs/cooks with basic prep tasks (e.g., measuring ingredients).
  • Preparing simple dishes (salads, sandwiches, or sides).
  • Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment.
  • Ensuring food storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Following food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Receiving and unpacking deliveries.
  • Checking expiry dates and rotating stock.
  • Restocking shelves, fridges, and freezers.
  • Reporting shortages or damaged items.
  • Setting up and clearing down food preparation and service areas.
  • Assisting with serving food (e.g., plating, portioning).
  • Collecting and disposing of waste safely.
  • Supporting cooks and kitchen staff as needed.
