JOB OVERVIEW

We are a web design and development company specializing in creating scalable, high-performing websites for professional services clients. We rely on AWS for hosting, Cloudflare for security and DNS, and WordPress as our CMS. Our team builds front-end applications with modern JavaScript frameworks. We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to streamline our infrastructure, optimize workflows, and ensure cost-effective operations.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique challenges of web development environments and can simplify the moving parts into a cohesive, efficient system.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking someone who excels at applying DevOps principles to web development workflows and can confidently optimize infrastructure for performance and cost.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, ideally within a web development environment.
  • Expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront) and cost optimization strategies.
  • Familiarity with Cloudflare for DNS and security management.
  • Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of web hosting environments, particularly WordPress optimization.
  • Understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks like Next.js or Remix.js.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with lightweight WordPress themes (e.g., GeneratePress).
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker (Kubernetes is a plus).
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
Responsibilities
  • AWS Infrastructure Management
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, cost-efficient AWS environments for web development workflows.
  • Optimize hosting configurations and resource allocation to reduce unnecessary costs without sacrificing performance.
  • Cloudflare Management
  • Configure and maintain DNS, caching, and security settings for optimized website performance.
  • Implement security protocols such as SSL/TLS, DDoS protection, and firewall rules.
  • Environment Optimization
  • Set up and manage environments tailored for WordPress and modern JavaScript frameworks like Next.js or Remix.js.
  • Ensure efficient build and deployment processes for front-end and CMS-based applications.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployments, and updates.
  • Streamline workflows to align with the development team’s needs and ensure reliability.
  • Security & Monitoring
  • Implement best practices for infrastructure security, backups, and access control.
  • Set up monitoring tools to ensure system performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Collaboration & Process Improvement
  • Work closely with developers and project managers to align infrastructure with project goals.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.
