Description
The Job Toolkit Tutors is seeking a bilingual (Spanish) Middle School ELA Tutor to provide small-group, pull-out tutoring during the school day at a public school in Far Rockaway, Queens. This role is approximately 5.5 hours/day, Monday–Thursday, from January 12, 2026 through May 15, 2026. Curriculum, training, and ongoing support are provided. Tutors work closely with school staff to reinforce key ELA skills, build student confidence, and support English learners. Bachelor’s degree (completed, or near completion with strong academic performance) Fluent in English and Spanish; able to support students learning English as a second language At least one year of formal teaching or tutoring experience in a school or educational setting Experience working with urban school communities and an understanding of student challenges Strong middle school ELA content knowledge Punctual, reliable, and committed to student success Excellent communication skills and ability to engage students effectively Ability to commute to Far Rockaway, Queens DOE fingerprint clearance strongly preferred Pay starting at $33/hour Paid sick leave Paid training and professional development opportunities Employee 401(k) plan with employer match
