Vacancy Status: This job posting is for a new position. The work week for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, and the ideal hours of availability are until 10-11pm. Exact hours are flexible. The Housing Support Office operates 24/7 and provides services to those living within the YMCA’s Housing Programs, which includes Transitional Housing and Supportive Housing Programs for youth and adults who have affordable/social housing needs. Informal counseling, advocacy and referrals are also provided. The Team Supervisor will support the Director of Transitional Housing Services in managing the day-to-day operations of Transitional Housing Services and helping to lead the Housing Services team in providing excellent service delivery. Some of the tasks of this position include: * Providing leadership to the Transitional Housing Services team, ensuring effective service delivery and attainment of operating and licensing standards. * Supervising staff in a unionized environment, respecting the current Collective Agreement. * Representing Transitional Housing Services in the organization and community. * Assisting in the recruitment and training of staff. * Providing supervision and evaluation of full-time, part-time, casual, and contract employees. * Ensuring adequate levels of scheduled staff coverage to meet program and contractual requirements. * Monitoring standards for reporting and operating procedures. * Contributing to the development and maintenance of program-specific policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have the following: Education * Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field Language * Fluent in English and French, oral and written * Other languages are an asset Experience, Skills and Abilities * Minimum 3 years’ experience in Housing, preferably in Emergency Housing * Knowledge and sensitivity in dealing with individuals with issues concerning homelessness, addiction, and mental health * Extensive knowledge of community resources * Strong computer proficiency * Leadership experience and demonstrated leadership skills * Strong communication skills * Ability to work with clients with diverse needs, backgrounds and skills Additional Requirements: * Applicants must have a current Standard First Aid and CPR “C” certification. * Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada. * A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required.
