Description

​A finance company is seeking a Bilingual Japanese/English Taxing & Accounting-SVP level to join their team in New York, NY. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of consolidated federal income tax return filing within US subsidiaries, management of tax operations of affiliate companies on a non-consolidated and consolidated base. A bachelors’ degree in a related field, 10+ years related work experience in Tax Department, knowledge of basic accounting software, knowledge of MS Office applications, knowledge of general office equipment, and the ability to speak, read, and write Japanese is required. M& A Tax knowledge is a big PLUS. It is a full-time, hybrid (2 days in office), exempt position with excellent benefits and a 401k.

Responsibilities

-Planning and building of a consolidated federal income tax return filing within US subsidiaries
-Review of companies subject to stock transfer, verification of the impact of consolidated federal income tax return
-Management of tax operation of affiliate companies in North America
-Building a collaborative relationship with group companies in US and contractors of each company
-Review of BEAT base erosion percentage calculation for tax provision purpose and tax return purpose
-Management of book-keeping and tax operation on a non-consolidated and consolidated base
-Review and approval of certain journal entries prepared by accounting staff
-Management of affiliate companies in North America from the perspective of companies consolidated base-Support for Headquarters’ operation
-Consolidated tax payments
-Knowledge of tax matters during reorganizations, including M&A, is desirable.
-Answering miscellaneous tax related questions from group entities
-Supervise and give guidance to Accounting staffs and Vice President – Tax.
-Communicate with headquarter office in Tokyo, Japan so must be flexible with hours sometimes
