What to expect….

The Bi-Lingual Learning and Development Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and facilitating blended learning solutions for work area training as well as maintaining training documentation that aligns with standard operating procedures. Support e-learning strategies, plans and processes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous learning and building content using adult learning principles. Experience working with different learning platforms, systems and tools to create blended learning solutions. Tech savvy, think outside the box, have a creative mindset and proactively share industry best practices.

  • Develop and maintain English and French training materials including facilitator guides, participant guides, eLearning, assessments, videos, job aids, reference materials, manager guides, employee guides, etc.
  • Develop and facilitate ILT and VILT using adult learning principles and performance improvement methodology.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key business stakeholders to understand learning needs, define success measures, and ensure content is relevant and up to date.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to translate their knowledge into effective, interactive learning solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support with maintenance reviews of existing learning programs to ensure accuracy, quality, business impact and scalability.
  • Conduct needs analysis, identify learner performance gaps, make recommendations for creating new, and improving/revising existing training programs.
  • Develop assessment methods to measure learner comprehension and the application of knowledge.
  • Track and report on training activities to ensure effectiveness.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities to improve/enhance learning content.
  • Use the ADDIE (analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate) instructional design model to build blended learning solutions.
  • Develop effective learning solutions in the format of micro-learning, gamified learning, just-in-time solutions, infographics, videos, animations, etc.
  • Act as in-house champion on learning and development and seek to continuously drive improvement of the learning experience.
  • Occasional travel to alternate branches

What you need….

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field, or combined education and relevant experience
  • CTP or CTDP designation an asset
  • 2+ years of professional experience in instructional design, training delivery, and facilitation
  • 1+ years of experience with eLearning authoring tools and video creation software (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, HTML)
  • Experience with ADDIE
  • Experience managing projects and competing deadlines using strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong technical skills and experience with audio and video editing tools
  • Experience translating in-depth information into an easy to understand, digestible format
  • Above average verbal, grammar and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (English and French)
