SUMMARY OF POSITION

As the Insurance Bilingual Claims Team Lead, you will be responsible for supervising a team of bilingual claims adjusters who investigate and process personal lines auto insurance claims. You will ensure that claims are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. You will also provide guidance and support to bilingual adjusters and support staff, evaluate performance, and collaborate with other departments to improve the claims process.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead and supervise a team of bilingual claims adjusters who investigate and process personal lines auto insurance claims
  • Ensure that claims are processed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Review and approve claim settlements within established authority limits
  • Ensure that all claims are processed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to bilingual adjusters, including coaching and training to improve their knowledge and skills
  • Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations for promotions, disciplinary action, or termination as necessary
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve the claims process and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that claims data is accurately and timely entered into the claims management system
  • Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in industry and professional associations to stay informed of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, agents, and other stakeholders

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Prior exposure to claims practices and procedures
  • Strong computing and keyboarding skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills including active listening; uses written communication skills to record inquiry information and policy activity.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted underwriting practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Able to work in a fast paced and team-oriented environment

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in personal lines auto insurance claims processing
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual, able to converse and correspond in Spanish and English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be sitting for up to 2 hours straight with short break
  • Constant keyboard entry for up to 2 hours with short break

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to do simple math
  • Must have the ability to identify a problem and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
