Description
Description Alliance for Community Transformations is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Peer Counselor to provide crisis intervention, peer counseling, and case management services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This position supports clients in both office and shelter settings through trauma-informed care, advocacy, and connection to community resources while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with program standards. Crisis Intervention & Counseling Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors Deliver peer counseling to adult and child clients Conduct basic assessments and connect clients to shelter, legal, and counseling services Provide referrals to community resources Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all services Facilitate or co-facilitate support groups Provide transportation for clients and travel for program services as needed Case Management Assess client needs and develop individualized case plans Provide ongoing advocacy with community agencies and service providers Support clients in achieving self-sufficiency and personal goals Community Outreach & Education Assist with outreach events, presentations, and trainings on DV/SA awareness Represent the organization in community settings Administrative & Documentation Maintain accurate case files, records, and statistical data Ensure compliance with confidentiality and organizational policies Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program activities General Support Assist with special projects and administrative tasks Support meetings, trainings, and events Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred OR at least 2 years of experience in case management, advocacy, or counseling Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault dynamics Crisis intervention and counseling skills Group facilitation experience Familiarity with community resources and criminal justice systems Strong communication skills in high-stress environments Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry) Strong time management and ability to work independently Requirements Bilingual (required) Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to pass background check and fingerprint clearance
