Description:

BILINGUAL PERSONAL INJURY PARALEGAL

We seek an energetic and driven Spanish-Speaking Paralegal for our Personal Injury Division. This role requires previous experience in handling all types of personal injury cases in Illinois. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, is detail oriented, and willing to assist the attorneys in all facets of personal injury litigation.

REQUIREMENTS (MUST HAVE):

  • Familiarity with Illinois and Federal e-filing systems
  • Has familiarity with medical terminology
  • 4+ years of experience at a personal injury firm (Plaintiff preferred)
  • Ability to work within a team structure to move cases forward
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Work up client claims from intake through settlement in support of and under the supervision of the handling attorney
  • Review medical records and draft medical chronologies
  • Notice, file and deliver courtesy copies of all filings to counsel and the courts
  • Draft answers to written discovery by working with the client, handling attorney and file materials
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, pre-trial conferences, court status hearings and trials
  • Work with the attorney to prepare exhibits for depositions and trial
  • Maintain case management data in the firms case management system
  • Proficient in personal injury law (i.e. motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, animal attacks, nursing home negligence, dram shop, intentional torts, medical malpractice, etc.)
