SUMMARY

We are looking for a qualified and loving Bilingual Teacher (English / Spanish) to work at our Arlington location with our Pre-K students. The classrooms have a Spanish teacher and an assistant teacher, together you will make a dynamic team!

SKILLS:

  • Proven English and Spanish proficiency.
  • Proven skills and knowledge about Teaching English (English grammar, spelling, semantics, vocabulary, etc.).
  • Understanding the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
  • Good communication and instructional skills.

EDUCATION:

  • BA in Early Childhood Education or similar degree in teaching
  • CDA and further graduate workAbility to have transcripts transferred

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including whole group (co-teaching) and small-group learning.
  • Observe and develop each child help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional conflicts
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum to ensure kindergarten readiness
  • Track children’s progress and report to parents through daily written communication, twice yearly parent teacher conferences, and semesterly progress reports
  • Collaborate with other educators
  • Contribute productively to the school as a whole
  • Participate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned
  • Attend and participate in established traditional school-sponsored activities (i.e. back-to-school night, recitals, and other activities customarily attended by classroom teachers and/or faculty members), which may be outside of regular school hours
  • Other duties as assigned
