A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a pediatric psychologist to join our rapidly expanding integrated behavioral health in primary care programs (Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids) and outpatient services.
The Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids program strives toward a fully integrated model of behavioral health in primary care and provides consultative and intervention services in pediatric primary care practices in the CHOP Primary Care Network. The psychologist will be part of the very energetic multi-disciplinary Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids team made up of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical Social Workers, and Pediatric Psychologists. The practice serves a high proportion of children ensured by Medicaid and is comprised of a team of pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and medical assistants who are highly motivated to provide high-quality team-based care to patients. This position will be expected to participate in teaching and training activities through our APA and ACGME-accredited clinical psychology and child and adolescent psychiatry training programs.
The Psychologist provides psychological services to patients and families, develops and nurtures clinical services, participates in and leads training activities within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) and Hospital; and participates in Department and Hospital committees and initiatives. They may contribute actively to program development and QI activities, serve as an educator, role model, and mentor, and participate in local, regional, and national professional activities. They may engage in clinical research as appropriate for their role. In some settings, the psychologist may have a matrixed reporting relationship with a physician leader outside the Department.
Faculty appointment at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is strongly encouraged.
