What is in it for you: Wonderful company culture - our colleagues are at the heart of all that we do Food & Beverage discount of 50% in our restaurants Employee benefit card offering discounted rates in Accor worldwide for you and your family Learning programs through our academies designed to sharpen your skills Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21 Full rate of pay of $18.07/hour Job Description Reporting to the Food & Beverage Leadership, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage Other duties as assigned Qualifications 2-3 years server experience in a similar fine dining/upscale environment Previous point of sale system experiences an asset W=set or other certification will also be considered an asset but not required Excellent communication and organizational skills Fluent in both official languages would be a strong asset Smart Serve Certification required Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible and reliable Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Passing grade on the written recruitment and final server exam Available to 5 shifts per week including all holidays and hours of operation Additional Information Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to): Constant standing and walking throughout shift Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs Occasional kneeling, lifting Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps Fairmont Château Laurier is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
