Teacher-Assistant - Reggio Emilia Approach
We are looking for a Teacher Assistant. A preschool teacher must have a great love and patience for children. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

SKILLS

• A nurturing, passionate, committed teacher with an open disposition to learn.
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as mediator between children.
• Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
• Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen.
• DCF Credentials: 45 hours, 10 to 30 Hours of In-service/year Completed & Tested! Requirement before first day of employment.
• Certification in child CPR/First Aid.
• High School, in college or Associates Degree in related field or CDA Credential
• Permit to work & Social Security & Drives License

• Help the lead teacher in the classroom.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques such as storytelling, support social emotional development, play with children.
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Organize nap and snack/lunch and supervise children to ensure they are always safe and nurtured.
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
