Summary Bill of Materials Specialist with a Mechanical, Technical, or Engineering background. This role involves determining the correct parts for production, creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)/Parts Lists, and managing urgent part needs. Emphasis is placed on optimizing inventory by utilizing slow-moving and obsolete stock. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Analyze data to leverage slow-moving and obsolete inventory. * Collaborate with purchasing to handle part information, date requirements, substitutions, and returns. * Accurately determine and create BOMs/Parts Lists to meet build specifications. * Interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, and schematics. * Create and maintain BOMs in the M3 system. * Verify correct application of parts to work orders and assist production with parts research. * Define and prioritize urgent parts for next-day delivery. * Assist with manufacturing and purchased part creation. * Provide support for interbranch requests and other parts-related inquiries. * Meet deadlines and assist with yearly physical inventory. * Perform other assigned tasks as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications * Mechanical or Technical background required; Mechanical Engineering background preferred. * Experience in data analysis. * Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Preferred knowledge of heavy and light-duty trucks and equipment. * Highly detail-oriented and accurate. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. * Self-sufficient, driven, and capable of meeting deadlines. * High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license required. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to quickly learn new programs. * Ability to work with mathematical concepts and interpret technical documents. * Effective communication skills with a positive, professional demeanor. * Ability to pay attention to details, understand written information, and use logical reasoning to solve problems. Working Conditions * Work hours are typically 6/7am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with potential for additional hours as needed. * Work is performed in a shop or office setting with potential exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas, and fumes. Physical Requirements * Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. * Some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required.
