Description Holley-Navarre Water System is an 18,000 strong member owned not-for-profit water and wastewater company in Santa Rosa County. HNWS has an annual budget of approximately $16 million. HNWS wholly owns two subsidiaries: an engineering firm and a golf course. HNWS is seeking a motivated individual to learn the Billing Clerk who will learn and execute all aspects of the billing process, and when necessary, assist Member Services. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Activates new accounts with work orders Processes, prints, and proofs third-party billing Issue work orders as needed Prepares and maintains member accounts Applies penalties and late fees to accounts when necessary Generates delinquency list for SMS and email notifications Finalizes member accounts and prepares final bills Processes electronic payments and adjustments Processes return payments and reimbursement reports Respond to member inquiries via phone, email, and in person Assists members with billing questions, concerns, or disputes Runs reports to monitor usage on vacant accounts Provides general support to Member Services and Field staff as necessary Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extremely organized with great attention to detail. Ability to adapt to change. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems. Ability to negotiate and settle differences quickly and peacefully. Ability to act as a team player. Ability to adapt and learn new software quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-directed and able to work without supervision. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Skills Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software. Physical Demands/ Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Most of the noise will be from doors opening and closing and hallway traffic. Some traffic entering the office from co-workers.
Responsibilities
The Billing Clerk will learn and execute all aspects of the billing process, including activating new accounts and processing payments. The role also involves assisting Member Services with inquiries and providing general support as needed.
