POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Billing & Collections directs, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the day-to-day functions and operations of the Billing and Collections Department for all business units within the Venture group of companies. Develops and implements billing policies and procedures, and assures they are kept current and are implemented at all company sites. Oversees and streamlines the billing and collections systems and processes, and standardizes the methods to be used to accomplish work that will increase efficiency to assure maximized revenue for products and services provided. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION Establish business procedures with focus on driving process improvement and reducing waste. Develop and maintain updated SOP documentation for all corporate billing and collections practices. Establish and maintain an engaging culture that empowers staff towards independence and problem solving. Hire, train and develop supervisors/team leaders with focus on performance measurement and early issue escalation. Consult with business unit and corporate executives to establish appropriate credit limits and collaborate on effective collection escalation strategies for delinquent accounts. Collaborate with IT and financial leadership to critically evaluate effectiveness of current systems and applications. Stay abreast of current industry developments and promote exploration of new solutions. Display creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation. Identifies revenue sources not being maximized, and provides recommendations to resolve areas that fall short. Provides oversight, leadership, guidance, and assistance to the billing and collections staff. Contributes in the preparation of statistical reports and monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income reports, etc. Heads routine staff meetings regarding planning and implementation of billing and collections. OTHER SIGNIFICANTJOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE Additional duties as assigned Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in business-related discipline Minimum of 5-10 years progressive management/supervisory experience in billing, collections, or other customer service-focused functions REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)
