Description

We are looking for a skilled Billing Coordinator to join a leading law firm in New York, New York. This role is perfect for professionals with a legal billing background who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy collaborating with attorneys and support staff. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all billing activities.

Responsibilities
  • Generate and process pre-bills, invoices, and billing adjustments in accordance with client specifications and firm policies.
  • Interpret and manage complex billing arrangements, including split billing and alternative fee structures.
  • Ensure all billing activities comply with established client guidelines and internal procedures.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, support staff, and the finance department to address and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Utilize billing software such as Aderant or Elite to manage the full billing cycle efficiently.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collections.
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to billing, collections, and account reconciliation.
  • Provide support in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist in implementing best practices for billing processes and procedures.
  • 2+ years of experience in legal billing, ideally within a law firm setting.
  • Proficiency in using billing software such as Aderant or Elite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of legal billing practices and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
