CANDIDATE PROFILE:

The ideal candidate holds a third-level degree with a minimum 2:1 classification in a discipline that involves significant numerical, analytical, and/or financial content, or an equivalent qualification. They possess a solid understanding and working knowledge of MS packages, at least one programming language (such as Python or C++), and/or VBA. They are comfortable using various IT packages and software applications. Advanced MS Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables, are highly desirable.
The candidate has demonstrable experience in data modelling, managing large data sets, and analysing large volumes of data to identify anomalies and trends. Additionally, they have knowledge of the Irish Gas and Electricity industry, including the Single Electricity Market (SEM). Key competencies include taking ownership, maintaining high productivity levels, exhibiting professional integrity, being results-driven with strong problem-solving skills, communicating clearly and concisely, focusing on customer and quality, and demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Customer Operations Manager, the Billing Executive will assist with the overall billing of both gas and electricity customers served, as well as providing support to the wider operations team. The role is a mix of market and data analytics coupled with process orientated tasks. As part of the operations team the role will interact with customers, market operators, networks operators, IT providers and regulatory. Working to ensure accurate and timely reporting and inputting of billing data, addressing and resolving customer questions relating to billing data, and ensuring any customer/account updates are captured, this role offers an exciting career opportunity with a dynamic and ever-changing environment for capable and driven individuals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Operations Manager during gas and power billing periods and ensure all bespoke invoices are generated and sent on time.
  • Update new tariffs, price changes, customer information etc., ensuring all data is captured in a precise and timely manner.
  • Review and action any billing issues and invoice related customer queries on a regular basis.
  • Invoice Reports - prepare bespoke invoice reports detailing consumption data for large/multisite customers.
  • Assess all billing processes and procedures and develop improvements and updates as needed.
  • Complete analysis on the gas and power market and identify any market trends.
  • Reporting of customer service activity/issues/site losses and additions on a monthly gas and electricity reports, ensuring that they are timely, accurate and relevant.
  • Use expertise on gas and electricity markets to support Sales team on a regular basis.
  • Analysis - prepare bespoke analysis (Microsoft excel reporting tools) that is required by the Sales team or customers.
