Reporting to the Billing Operations Manager, the Billing Representative is an integral role in ensuring Billing delivery excellence in the Order to Cash function, particularly focussed on the full payment portal lifecycle. They bring their subject matter expertise in Billing, great customer service, teamwork, and business partner skills to effectively support their peers, leaders, Sales, and other key stakeholders in delivering Billing efficacy. They also bring their professional approach and strong process capabilities to support our process automation goals. Integrations are a way of life at OpenText, so they lead change in their everyday approach with their peers and other key stakeholders in delivering on the Billing mandate.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable to ensure they meet /exceed billing targets, which requires accurate interpretation of complex legal agreements and purchase orders;
  • Complete Peer audit reviews on work from contract through invoice; you successfully complete proper training of team members;
  • Partner with Sales and Collections to resolve billing and collections issues, including completing account reconciliations to ensure accurate and complete resolution to achieve month-end, quarter-end targets;
  • Partner with Global Billing peers to drive end-to-end process and practice improvement to deliver on process automation goals;
  • Responsible to effectively manage external customer/stakeholder inquiries on billing processes, internal controls, and policies;
  • Responsible to follow all internal controls and policies related to invoicing to protect OpenText’s brand;
  • As an SME, work with project teams to deliver on acquisition integrations;
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to deliver on process automation goals;
  • Assist in audits where required;
  • As an SME, support work to ensure month-end, quarter-end targets are achieved;
  • Deliver on other priorities as assigned to execute on the Billing mandate.

What you need to succeed

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in software billing function; global billing experience in the software services or high-tech industry preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of payment portal infrastructure, with a willingness to build new processes for improvement
  • Understanding of portal registration and change processes from a customer and internal perspective
  • Strong working knowledge of billing systems and Microsoft products. Knowledge in SAP, SalesForce would be an advantage.
  • Experience of payment portal processes (Ariba, Tungsten, Coupa etc.)
  • Strong customer service and business partner skills and experience.
  • Willingness to suggest improvements to current ways of working
  • Demonstrated ability to present information logically and concisely to stakeholders at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing, multi-lingual skills an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Self-starter as well as great teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, utilizing change management methodologies to ensure their peers and stakeholders successfully use new processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work on and prioritize various deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of learning amongst their peers and other stakeholder groups on best billing practices.Very strong organizational skills.
