Our client is seeking an experienced Billing & Revenue Control Team Leader to join their Finance team in Birmingham. This role offers hybrid working arrangements, combining the benefits of office collaboration with the flexibility of remote working.
As Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring stakeholders receive an accurate and professional billing service, with the ability to engage, build trust and network at all levels. You will be the first line of escalation for clients and colleagues, drive accuracy standards across the team, and manage a team of 5 billing coordinators and assistants.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants MUST have:
· Proven team management experience in a professional services environment
· Experience in managing the billing process for large, complex clients
· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
· Knowledge of AP/Billing processes is essential
· Ability to work autonomously while operating effectively within a team environment
· Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
· Experience in stakeholder management at all levels

Responsibilities

You will be expected to:

  • Manage and develop a team of billing professionals, ensuring even distribution of workloads and high levels of support for internal and external clients
  • Take ownership of WIP estimates for your area of responsibility, highlighting variances against targets and supporting the implementation of mitigation plans
  • Drive the team to collate all essential billing information to enable a smooth billing process
  • Provide the first point of escalation for stakeholders, dealing promptly with any team or individual issues
  • Continuously improve procedures and processes, working closely with other team leaders to ensure consistency and collaboration
  • Create an environment that encourages trust, open communication, innovative thinking and collaborative working
  • Effectively onboard and integrate new team members, ensuring they are fully trained in firmwide systems and processes
