BrainBox AI utilizes self-adapted artificial intelligence technology to proactively optimize the energy consumption of one of the largest climate change contributors: Buildings. Our AI engine supports a self-operating building that requires no human intervention. Using deep learning, cloud-based computing, and our proprietary process, our solution autonomously optimizes existing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control systems for maximum impact on energy consumption.
An exciting opportunity awaits the right candidate to be part of a fast-growing company. The billing & revenue specialist is responsible for accurate and timely billing of invoices to clients, monitoring client accounts and resolving billing issues. He/she is also responsible for proper revenue recognition and to create monthly management reports. Reviewing and interpreting contracts will be key to proper revenue recognition. He/she will also work closely with the Sale and Implementation teams to ensure that all billing and revenue transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

VOS QUALIFICATIONS

  • Baccalauréat en commerce ou en administration ou expérience équivalente
  • Cinq ans d’expérience dans un poste semblable
  • Expérience avérée des principes comptables généralement reconnus
  • Capacité de gérer le cycle des revenus de bout en bout
  • Expérience dans une entreprise en démarrage ou avec un logiciel-service (un atout)
  • Excellentes aptitudes de communication verbale et écrite (français et anglais)
  • Expérience dans un environnement intergouvernemental, multientreprise ou multidevise
  • Compétences intermédiaires dans l’utilisation d’Excel, et maîtrise du reste de la suite Microsoft Office et des logiciels de comptabilité
  • Solides compétences en matière d’analyse, d’organisation et de hiérarchisation, et souci du détail
  • Esprit d’équipe, attitude positive et capacité à travailler efficacement dans un environnement dynamique
Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall revenue cycle in a diligent and timely fashion
  • Review and interpret contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition under IFRS and to manage contract exceptions and adjustments
  • Ensure data accuracy in the accounting system (customer card, product and service items, customer projects list, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the Sales and Implementation teams to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition
  • Prepare and submit invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner
  • Record and reconcile billing transactions in the accounting software
  • Communicate with clients to ensure payment is received in a timely manner
  • Monitor client accounts for payment discrepancies and resolve billing issues
  • Prepare and record revenue recognition entries and monthly reconciliation of deferred revenue
  • Validate, reconcile and analyze actual revenue results vs forecasted and historical results
  • Ensure sales tax compliance and prepare sales taxes returns in the different jurisdictions
  • Answer clients and internal stakeholders questions on billing and revenue
  • Provide support for various audits requirements
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve data accuracy, as well as departmental processes and efficiency
  • Support the Finance team in day-to-day operations and ad-hoc projects
