Job Details Job Location: Cullman Regional Medical Center - Cullman, AL 35056 Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Day Job Category: Health Care Job Summary: Performs patient billing and claims and files to insurance companies for reimbursement. Accepts and posts payments to accounts and receives walk-in customers and answers phone promptly. Reviews claims and refiles and/or files appeals as necessary; pulls records for medical review/subpoena per policy. Files and retrieves paper and electronic claims and remittance. Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences. Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or experience in medical billing. Experience: One year working in medical billing. Certification by the National Academy of Ambulance Coding preferred. Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent customer service skills and computer skills required. Must be familiar with basic human anatomy. Will obtain and maintain NAAC certification within one year of hire date.
Responsibilities
The Billing Specialist performs patient billing and claims processing, filing to insurance companies for reimbursement. They also accept and post payments, review claims, and ensure exceptional patient experiences.
