Billing Specialist Answers incoming phone calls Ensure accuracy of demographic information Verify insurance coverage Perform Wheel Chair Billing Ambulance Coding Enter charges Complete understanding of all Insurance Carriers Understand Medical Necessity Communication to facilities for additional information that is needed for billing Medical Certification Follow-up Work claim edits Process Credit Card Payments Other duties as assigned Over-time as requested by management QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years medical billing experience Microsoft Office – Basic Good problem solving abilities Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Excellent customer service skills Ability to work independently or as team Work swiftly – fast paced environment Possess strong organizational skills Demonstrate a strong work ethic Ability to meet both productivity and quality department standards INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS Maintain social, ethical and organizational norms. Medical terminology is not required but preferred. All are subject to a background record and fingerprint check and must successfully complete a drug and alcohol screening (at the expense of CCA). Six (6) months clerical experience with knowledge of accounts receivable in the medical field required. Good math, written and oral communication skills with the ability to work independently is also required.
Responsibilities
The Billing Specialist is responsible for answering incoming calls, verifying insurance coverage, and entering charges. Additional duties include performing wheelchair billing, ambulance coding, and processing credit card payments.
