Trios Health  Job Title: Billing Specialist Job Type: Full-time Wage Range: $16.66-21.67 Reports to:  Reports to: Director of Physician Service FLSA: Non-exempt   Position Summary: Responsible for accounts receivable follow-up of assigned providers. Reviews Athena on a daily basis to ensure claim submission was successful and accepted by payer.  Job Functions: * Responsible for accounts receivable follow-up of assigned providers.  * Reviews Athena on a daily basis to ensure claim submission was successful and accepted by payer.  * Responsible for communication with patient and/or physician offices regarding outstanding claims. * Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. * Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information. * Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).  * Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices. * Perform other duties as assigned.   Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma required * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Responsibilities
The Billing Specialist is responsible for following up on accounts receivable for assigned providers and reviewing the Athena system daily to confirm successful claim submission and payer acceptance. This role involves communicating with patients and physician offices regarding outstanding claims.
