Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Billing Support Specialist to join our team in Santa Monica, CA. This role is responsible for addressing patient billing inquiries, resolving disputes, verifying insurance, processing payments, and providing outstanding customer service to ensure a positive patient financial experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare billing
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience
  • Ability to read, interpret, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience working with EPIC or similar healthcare systems

Responsibilities
  • Respond to inbound calls related to billing inquiries, explanation of benefits (EOBs), financial assistance, insurance coverage, and payment processing
  • Maintain productivity standards and call center metrics
  • Work assigned EPIC work queues efficiently and accurately
  • Accurately update patient account information, including insurance and registration data
  • Document all account activities and communications thoroughly and clearly
  • Perform basic account adjustments as required
  • Manage patient callbacks and complete correspondence in a timely manner
  • Handle escalated issues and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specialized inquiries
  • Support follow-up on unresolved customer issues
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by supervisor or manager
