This role is remote.

REQUIRED ABILITIES/SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or GED and completion of medical billing program
  • 5-7 years experience in billing, DME billing experience preferred
  • Can apply billing experience to a non-traditional medical billing environment
  • Demonstrates emerging leadership skills as individual contributor or team lead
  • Adaptable; our company and industry are changing rapidly
  • Can drive continuous improvement to deliver stronger results for customers
  • Warm and friendly with customers; strong communication skills and deep customer empathy
  • Self-starter, can work autonomously
  • Team player who can work effortlessly and effectively with different personalities.
  • Confident using software, task management systems like Asana

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment
This is largely a sedentary role, with most of the duties performed on a computer or phone. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure tasks and high priority tasks are completed in a timely fashion
  • Assist team members with questions, escalations, and more complicated issues; provide training and support to less experienced team members
  • Contribute to a conducive working environment for team members, remove obstacles and pursue solutions to challenges as they arise
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest specific improvements to leadership
  • Accurately submit HCFA claims using claims management software
  • Interpret and post EOBs
  • Manage patient return and voluntary payor refunds
  • Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
  • Generate and submit appeal packets with proof of delivery, chart notes, and more
  • Deepen your knowledge of healthcare industry and have ability to work on special projects
