Responsibilities Billing & Claims Management Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party payers. Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness for billing. Track claims through the full billing cycle, resolving denials and rejections. Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile patient accounts. Collections & Follow-Up Follow up with insurance providers to ensure timely reimbursement. Communicate with clients regarding billing questions, insurance coverage, and balances with professionalism and empathy. Maintain consistent follow-up on outstanding claims and accounts. Compliance & Accuracy Ensure compliance with HIPAA, federal and state regulations, and payer requirements. Stay up to date on billing codes and regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT). Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential billing records. Collaboration & Process Improvement Work with clinical and administrative teams to improve billing accuracy and reduce denials. Assist with audits, reporting, and process improvements as needed. What You Bring Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Knowledge of medical billing, insurance processes, and mental health coding Ability to analyze issues and resolve billing discrepancies Excellent communication skills, especially when discussing financial matters with clients Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of medical billing experience, ideally in behavioral or mental health Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT codes, and insurance billing practices Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing systems preferred Understanding of HIPAA and regulatory compliance Valid driver’s license (Class C or D)
