Description PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Billings Market Route Supervisor is a hybrid leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of designated Sales Representatives in the Billings market while also personally selling Beer and Non-Alcoholic (NA) products two (2) days per week. This position provides route coverage for all categories—Beer, Wine, and NA—across the Billings territory, acting as both a working supervisor and active contributor to sales goals. The Billings Market Route Supervisor acts as a team leader and plays a key role in the execution of company and business objectives, directing, planning, and controlling the activities of the Sales Representatives assigned to the team. RESPONSIBILITIES PERSONAL SALES (Beer & NA — 2 Days Per Week) Personally sell Beer and NA products two (2) days per week within the Billings market, maintaining an active account list and achieving assigned monthly sales and distribution targets. Pre-plan sales objectives and run route as efficiently as possible; call on accounts according to established frequency. Observe accounts for sales opportunities; deliver factual and persuasive sales presentations and close sales calls effectively. Inspect back stock for proper pricing, rotation, and positioning; execute all ad features and displays. Maintain accounts receivable for each assigned account; document and maintain accurate records (route books, re-cap forms, etc.) for each sales call. Ensure compliance with Company’s product quality assurance standards (i.e., outdated, damaged, unsellable product). Meet or exceed sales volume, profitability, and distribution commitments on Beer and NA categories. Maintain customer logs for profiling customer needs; investigate and resolve all customer complaints in a timely fashion. ROUTE COVERAGE (All Categories — Beer, Wine & NA) Provide route coverage for Beer, Wine, and NA categories across the Billings market as needed, including filling in for vacation routes and unplanned absences. Perform product re-sets as scheduled across all categories; ensure cold box rotations are completed as needed. Acquire and maintain adequate supplies of POS and other merchandising materials for all categories; ensure POS area remains neat and orderly. Ensure brands across all categories are represented to Company standards and monitor competitor activities. Assist the Company at special events and functions as required. SALES MANAGEMENT Assist Sales Reps to execute and achieve all sales and distribution goals across Beer, Wine, and NA categories; monitor service levels and call frequency and make recommendations for cost-effective changes. Perform daily rides with team members, provide documentation and follow-up forms to both team members and Management. Develop, monitor, and recommend Company/supplier-supported sales PFP’s on a monthly basis; track and evaluate results including target accounts, incentives, and market execution. Accountable for all assigned chains to achieve sales, distribution, and ad/display goals. Prepare and deliver sales presentations to key customers in coordination with Sales Reps; meet with key customers and assist Reps with maintaining relationships and closing sales. Attend and actively participate in all weekly sales meetings. SUPERVISORY AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT Effectively interview, hire, and develop staff; train sales staff and work directly with staff on a regular basis to reinforce training. Plan, assign tasks, and direct work of subordinate personnel; examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Appraise performance and reward employees appropriately; address complaints and resolve personnel problems; maintain harmony and unity among staff; take necessary corrective action in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy. Work with all team members assisting them on their assigned routes, striving for growth. Monitor and be responsible for the effective and efficient collection of receivables. Maintain appropriate dress/appearance per Company standards, punctual for all account calls, scheduled meetings, presentations, staff trainings, and meetings. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS and KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA) Any combination equivalent to the following education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be: Relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Five (5) or more years of professional experience in the beer/beverage industry (specifically selling), or closely related areas. Three (3) or more years in a supervisory, administrative, or management capacity. Strong beverage industry and product knowledge. Writing reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting policies and procedures, delegating responsibilities. Monitor administrative activities and evaluate the performance of staff and contracted vendors. Ability to make administrative decisions in a variety of management areas including fiscal, personnel, procurement, and facility operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, other governmental agencies, and the general public; Ability to promote positive public relations and to convey the objectives of the facility to various groups and individuals. Understand and effectively communicate Summit Beverage's organizational mission and goals. PHYSICAL and OTHER REQUIREMENTS This position will be in an office setting and in customer accounts. It may require 8-to-10-hour days Monday – Friday, flexible or after standard business hours on occasion. Seeing: Must be able to read reports and use computer/general office equipment.
