This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is a new position at Linxon. As the Building Information Engineer for Linxon, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we design and deliver the next generation of power infrastructure—projects that strengthen grid reliability, enable renewable integration, and support a more sustainable energy future. In this role, you will leverage advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to transform the way our teams collaborate, coordinate, and execute complex substation and power‑system projects. Your expertise will streamline engineering workflows, enhance design accuracy, reduce rework, and optimize constructability—directly improving project efficiency, safety, and quality. By integrating intelligent 3D models, automating documentation, and enabling real‑time interdisciplinary coordination, you will help accelerate project delivery and elevate the digital maturity of the entire organization. Your impact will reach far beyond modeling: you will influence strategic digital‑engineering initiatives, support innovative design methodologies, and contribute to a more data‑driven approach across all project stages. As a key driver of Linxon’s digital evolution, you will help set new standards for how power‑infrastructure projects are conceived, planned, and built—leaving a lasting mark on our engineering excellence and the communities we power. What will you do? Collaborate with project teams to build BIM execution plans and workflows that set the foundation for smoother, faster, and more efficient project delivery. Use advanced BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) to create intelligent 3D models of substations, switchgear, and transmission systems—bringing designs to life and enabling better decision‑making across the project lifecycle. Integrate inputs from engineers, designers, and stakeholders into a unified, accurate BIM model, ensuring every discipline is aligned and reducing the risk of costly design gaps. Perform clash detection to proactively resolve conflicts before construction begins, directly minimizing rework, reducing delays, and improving overall project certainty. Generate clear, precise drawings and documentation from BIM models that support permitting, design reviews, and construction—helping teams build with confidence and accuracy. Develop and refine BIM standards, templates, and best practices that elevate digital quality across Linxon, making every future project more efficient and consistent. Provide guidance and training that empowers team members to adopt BIM tools and workflows, helping to grow the company’s digital capabilities from within. Stay ahead of industry advancements in BIM and assess new technologies that can streamline workflows, enhance model intelligence, and strengthen Linxon’s competitive edge. Who you are? You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a BIM‑focused role within the construction or engineering industry. You are proficient in leading BIM software platforms, including Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. You bring a strong understanding of BIM concepts, methodologies, and workflows and know how to apply them effectively to real‑world projects. You communicate clearly, collaborate naturally, and thrive in multidisciplinary team environments. You are detail‑oriented, focused on accuracy, and committed to producing high‑quality work. You can successfully manage multiple projects at once, staying organized and prioritizing effectively in a dynamic environment. You have experience supporting power‑infrastructure projects—such as substations or transmission lines—or are eager to apply your BIM expertise in this sector. You hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; advanced education is a plus. What we offer? The compensation range for this position is between CAD $88,000 and CAD $117,300 annually.
