Description
Job Title: BIM Modeler – 3D Scan Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is considered local hire status meaning no relocation or per diem is available. The primary work location will be onsite at Samsung Semiconductor facility at Taylor, Texas and is full-time onsite 5 days per week, no remote work or flex hours. Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.
The assignment is expected to be through the end of 2026 with the possibility of extending into 2027. This is a fully benefited position through Magnum with a high probability of overtime. Magnum is seeking candidates in a broad range of experience levels from entry level to senior in electrical and mechanical drafting and design positions. Compensation is commensurate with experience level.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

An Associate’s Degree in mechanical drafting and design, Engineering, or equivalent experience/degree or certificate.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work closely with field coordinators to improve quality of deliverables (Scanning, registering, modeling)
• Perform 3D modeling, meshing, and extractions of equipment, and infrastructure using VDC methods
• Read and understand construction documents (Specs, floor plans, elevation plans, etc.)
• Learn and assist team members through the use of a multitude of software’s.
• Develop methods of automation for schedule tracking
• Strong communication of possible road blocks, delays, issues
• Can perform work while using specified PPE typical construction site population
• Maintain QA/QC procedures to ensure consistency of quality
• Lead coordination meetings with various teams to deliver feedback and collaborate to find solutions to issues

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• VDC with a strong base knowledge of construction layout, surveying, engineering drawings
• Revit MEP (back-end, front-end, designing/modeling)
• AutoCAD
• Hands-on experience with LiDAR systems and associated applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is primarily in an office environment. However, field investigation of in-plant piping, civil, structural, or mechanical equipment requires the ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE) such as flame-retardant clothing (FRC), hard hat, safety eyewear, safety footwear, fall protection harnesses or other specialty PPE. Ability to manipulate office materials and/or equipment and occasionally Lift, Hold/Carry 5-10lbs.

REQUIRED CLIMBING ABILITIES:

To move up or mount stairs and ladders by using the hands or feet as required including, a step stool ladder, 8’ to 10’ ladder, extension ladder and/or stairs of 1-3 or more flights.
