EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred: Certifications or formal training in Autodesk Fabrication (CADmep, CAMduct, ESTmep), BIM/VDC workflows, or related software.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fabrication content development, including CADmep, or ITM workflows in Revit.
  • Proven experience with estimating, part data creation, and CAM workflows in a fabrication environment.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes for MEP systems. Experience working with fabrication parts, assemblies, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) used in pre-fabrication and modular construction.
  • Experience working with piping, HVAC systems, or related construction disciplines in commercial or industrial settings.

NECESSARY SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Fabrication software CADmep, and Revit, for part data management and verification.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, particularly piping and HVAC, in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting; familiarity with SQL or ERP/procurement systems is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting data inconsistencies and spatial coordination issues.
  • Comfortable interpreting technical drawings and system schematics.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with detailers, project managers, and field teams.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering teamwork to meet project deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This office-based position requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Candidates must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and mouse use. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are essential for operating computer systems and software. The role also requires the ability to lift or handle office equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. Clear and effective communication, both verbal and written, is a critical requirement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and manage normalized, accurate data for parts, materials, and assemblies used in procurement, estimating, and fabrication.
  • Apply estimating principles, including material costs and labor units, to ensure part-level data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the project and detailing teams to align part data with field installation requirements and constructability standards.
  • Utilize knowledge of piping installation best practices, including material usage, connectivity, and code compliance, to support system detailing.
  • Leverage Microsoft Excel to organize large datasets, write formulas for data transformation, and generate reports; SQL and database experience is a plus.
  • Use CADmep and Revit to review Services, verify system connectivity, and ensure accurate reporting of components.
  • Identify and troubleshoot inconsistencies in part libraries, ensuring compatibility with fabrication processes and purchasing needs.
  • Partner with detailers to ensure part selections meet JH Kelly standards and system compatibility requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of internal part data quality and connection logic protocols.
  • Optimize fabrication content for integration with CNC and CAM systems to enhance production efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and training to BIM team members on part data usage and best practices.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to align part data with project specifications and deadlines.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of data updates, processes, and workflows.
  • Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and fabrication technologies to keep part data optimized.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
