JOB SUMMARY

Performs all project responsibilities with direction and guidance from the BIM Manager and Project Manager. A BIM Specialist should fully understand the processes of how models are set up and federated. A BIM Specialist one should be able to set up or coordinate the set-up of a Plant 3D project or Revit models (not necessarily both simultaneously) for a project.
Demonstrate an understanding of the project scope and BIM requirements from the project proposal. Additionally, a BIM specialist should be able to create or modify templates of either Plant 3D or Revit (not necessarily both simultaneously). This role requires a BIM Specialist to coordinate all disciplines on a project and determine clash issue responsibility.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

A basic level of competency in 2D and 3D software is required – specifically AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Plant 3D. The ability to understand how models are federated and set up is key to being successful.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinators are expected to observe professional ethics in their association with others including fellow employees, clients, and vendors
  • Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from the project team
  • Reviews project scope of work and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope that may appear during the design phase.
  • Reviews the design input and communicates any ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting information to the supplier of the input for resolution (includes processing information such as vendor drawings, marked up drawings, design basis, notes, and verbal instructions).
  • Reviews design output to verify it meets design input (i.e., verify output meets design basis, design input and standard industry practices).
  • Performs work related to design changes after validated documents are issued and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope resulting from the change.
  • Conform to Jedson Engineering Inc., drafting and quality standards
  • Other duties as assigned.
