ABOUT THE ROLE The Bindery Operator operates multiple binders and finishing machines, such as stitchers, cutters, folders, gluers, die-cutting machines, and other finishing/bindery equipment. We are looking for someone with several years of experience as an operator in a bindery-folder or finishing setting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of efficiently operating folding machines, ensuring high-quality output, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced print production environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain on-time machine operation in the Bindery department. Ensure that assembly practices comply with established policies and procedures. Troubleshoot problems and report findings to the appropriate program manager and departmental managerial team. Perform typical Bindery operations to support the assembly floor. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines. Work overtime as needed. Perform related duties as assigned by supervision. QUALIFICATIONS At least 3 years of experience with Bindery-Folding/Finishing machine operation. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position is frequently exposed to noise – hearing protection (PPE) must be worn. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
