The Bindery Operator is responsible for the production of client jobs that do not fall into the normal inserting workflow. This includes operator cutters, folders, tabbers, and other bindery equipment. Bindery Operators are also responsible for reading and following job ticket instructions and for sorting, traying, and palletizing mail for fulfillment. We want someone who is eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and can work in a team environment. Responsibilities: • Read and interpret job tickets • Operate a Hydraulic cutter producing paper products according to job ticket specifications • Set up, adjust and operate equipment in accordance with job ticket instructions • Remove, stack, pack, and transport printed material in various stages of completion as it accumulates on delivery tables of specific equipment • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and bands bundles together • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, job tickets, or other containers • Install strapping to prevent mail or material from shifting or becoming damaged in transit, using a strapping machine • Scan job tickets for accurate job tracking • Meter and seal mail at the proper postage rate (letters and flats) • Assist in UV coating postcards using the proper solution(s) • Perform preventive maintenance • Report defective equipment and inspect equipment for safety issues • Other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to process, comprehend and follow detailed instructions Basic skill of using manual dollies, carts and hand tools such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment used in material handling tasks. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Outstanding attention to detail Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift and move heavy materials (about 35–40 pounds) Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated and work independently Work constructively with coworkers and supervisors when performing daily responsibilities Production experience preferred but not required Must be able to pass drug screen, E-Verify, and background check ***We are an equal opportunity employer***
