Description POSITION FUNCTION: Responsible for ensuring the direct mail component pieces are collected from MBO high-speed folding machines, correctly trayed according to the given job ticket, and skid flags are placed in respective order. Utilizes and interprets job ticket information to assure quality control of final output before moving it into the final stage of production. Requirements ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Logs into Monarch terminal at the beginning and end of every job to document completion times, operation performed on the job, and quantities produced. Utilizes and interprets job ticket information to match up component codes and sequence numbers of each mail job, ensuring indicated quality is upheld based upon sample provided. Provides sample piece of each job to Mechanic Lead or Operations Manager for final approval before proceeding with production. Matches stock provided to job ticket, folded pieces and other components (if applicable) and continually reloads them into machine hoppers. Ensures correct version components are affixed or printed as indicated. Uses skid flags to identify pieces with the mail trays. Follows tray break marking to assure the correct number of pieces are in a tray for future inserting. Experienced operators may work in Affixing, Folding, Cutting, and Die-Cutting areas of Bindery. Completes other various duties as assigned by supervisor. Adheres to all Security Policies and Procedures as referenced in the Employee Security Handbook. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 1-year previous experience operating folding equipment. Experience working on MBO High-Speed Folders, MBO folding lines, Spedo continuous form cutters, glue systems, and/or card affixing systems are a plus. Proficient with basic math (adding, subtracting, ruler measurements). Able to read 8-point font. Understand numerical order and keep pieces in sequence. Able to communicate verbally and in writing. English & Spanish languages available for communication in role. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manual dexterity to operate machines, equipment, and a computer keyboard. Ability to stand for 8 to 12 hours. Occasional walking during shift. Ability to read and understand work related documentation and sequence numbers regarding job specifications. Able to bend, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Able to handle stacks of mail. WORKING CONDITIONS: Manufacturing environment. Onsite full-time schedule for selected shift. Protective hearing devices always required. Additional protective equipment (gloves, goggles, etc.) may occasionally be required.
