Job Description Oversees the day to day operation of the Bindery Department, and will manage a team of Production Assistants, Bindery, and Temp staff to plan, lead and coordinate all areas of Bindery production to exceed internal and external customer expectations in safety, quality, productivity, schedules, housekeeping and employee relations and retention. Responsibilities: Work to eliminate all unsafe behaviors and conditions within the plant. Fully support and practice Safety Training Observation Program techniques on a daily basis. Assure the maintenance of excellent housekeeping practices and safety awareness on all shifts. Maintain positive communication within the Bindery on all shifts. Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers to ensure that all production requirements, schedules, quality, and final deliveries of our products are satisfactory. Work with supervisors to create the appropriate training material to facilitate the continual growth of all Press employees. Will make recommendations regarding hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and training of Bindery personnel. Motivate staff in support of department objectives and timely and effective schedules to ensure production goals. Will be responsible for determining appropriate manning for each shift along with other supervisors, departments and co-workers. Coordinate manning efforts to effectively meet all quality and production requirements. Maintain and monitor the completion of all necessary records and documents as assigned. Foster the continual use and implementation of the philosophies and tools that are taught through our Total Quality Program. Promote the concept of working together as a team and with other departments to build continual improvement within the company. Work closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of work performed. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Knowledge of Windows applications and Google apps is required. UKG is helpful Demonstrate the ability to successfully manage people and direct work activities Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization Must have flexibility to multi-task and shift focus and re-prioritize as the situation dictates Demonstrate comfort and ability to learn and leverage new systems Demonstrate ability to proactively approach problems and drive for results Process focused and ability to drive process improvement. Additional Information The national pay range for this role is $63,300 to $97,400 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
