Description

We are searching for a Bio-Medical Equipment Specialist - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform preventive maintenance and repair on the most complex and demanding medical equipment, systems, and networks. Involvement includes performance improvement, design, installation, modification, custom interfacing, special projects, and technical leadership.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • H.S. Diploma or GED preferred
  • 12 years’ experience in servicing Biomedical and/or other electronic service equipment in a hospital, industrial or military setting required
  • A bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology may substitute for four (4) years of experience
  • An associate’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology may substitute for two (2) years of the experience
  • Relevant US Military Education may substitute for two (2) years of experience
Responsibilities
  • Performs Equipment Inspections.
  • Performs electrical safety inspections on equipment and accessories as outlined in the PM schedule.
  • Uses the appropriate test equipment within the specified time period according to the schedule, with no supervisory follow up.
  • Performs physical condition inspections, operational checks, overhauls and calibrations as outlined in the schedule with no Supervisory follow-up.
  • Utilizes optimal protocols, hardware or software based, to assure compliance with Departmental and manufacturer specifications.
  • Performs initial inspections and equipment acceptance testing and documents those activities in compliance with Departmental Policy.
  • Troubleshoots and Repairs equipment as needed.
  • Provides project support as needed.
  • Provides Leadership, Training and Instruction.
  • Effectively utilizes departmental resources.
  • Review, Update, Correct, and/or Create PM Procedures for Equipment within the assigned area.
  • Documents and records of daily work in appropriate systems.
  • Performs Incident Investigations.
  • Provides performance and quality improvement support.
  • Attends various meetings providing relevant information as necessary.
  • Other Essential Departmental Functions.
